[Look, it's a real bad time right now and he's trying his best to make this less awful with a little humour, as much as his heart isn't really in it.

He'd started this so stressed out that they were here to take Zero away. She told him they'd been sniffing around. He'd been so focused on that, it didn't occur to him they would take anyone else. And now here they are and he's got three entire people he thinks the world of who are missing and he doesn't know what he can do about it. ]
